FAQ

It means that no part of the products (or the boxes and stuff we ship them in) end up landfills, incinerators, or the ocean. That means absolutely everything in (and including) our packs is biodegradable, can be recycled or can be composted. We’ve even got a little insert in the pack printed on seed paper so you can grow some lettuce (it includes some word play we are sorry in advance for). As a bonus, we also only use Sendle to ship zilch boxes, because it’s 100% carbon neutral shipping.

Honestly this did take some explaining to us, but the long and short of it is they both can decompose naturally in the ground (even in landfills), but compostable products will do it a lot faster in the right conditions, and actually enrich the soil they break down into. That’s why we choose the compostable option where possible. 

It's a set of criteria that is important to us and are all the things every product must pass before we consider stocking it. Check out our criteria page for the full breakdown here.

After something passes the zilch criteria, everything is tried and tested by us, and only after we’ve thoroughly tested it and love using it does it get included as an option. We also really like brands that we feel are making a difference, in the market and the community, to helping us all live waste free lives. So while the products have a strict vetting process, we also love choosing brands that have great missions to help us all be better humans.

We also have an Ethics contract with all our partners. This is something they have to sign before we agree to work together, guaranteeing their products are free from all the things above and more. Only if every box is ticked (and we’ve thoroughly tested and loved them ourselves) do they make it in.

We love to support local Australian businesses! Australia is very blessed to have access to diverse and unique ingredients to develop beautiful organic products and because we’re not shipping in products from overseas, this also means less shipping to you, and a greatly reduced carbon footprint per pack.

Each product is slightly different, but as an example one of the shampoo blocks are equivalent to 6 (?!) plastic bottles of shampoo. They can also be used as body wash, so depends how many times a day you shower. Overall though, we’ve found all the products to last longer than the products they replaced.

Generally for all orders going to New South Wales it’s about 2-5 business days, and 3-10 days for all orders going interstate. These are estimates based on information from our shipping carriers, but for the most up to date delivery estimate, just check the tracking number found on your shipping confirmation email.

You can select 'non contact' pickup at Marrickville, Sydney for free. Otherwise our flat rate standard shipping within Sydney is $8.70 and $10.25 for anywhere else in Australia. We also offer express shipping and international shipping, check the shipping page or shipping detail on each product page in the drop down section for prices.

Our printer is known for its industry leading sustainable printing practices. They also engage with and support a wide range of social and environmental campaigns across Australia. So a portion of the money we spend with them goes back into these campaigns, supporting Australian communities. The stickers are fully compostable, including the backing paper and the adhesive is non-toxic, water based and water soluble.

Our boxes are made from 80% recycled materials with responsible forestry practices and are 100% compostable or recyclable.

The seed paper is, well, made from seeds! Just bury it straight into the ground, and in no time you’ll have a delicious lettuce — good for your salad and the planet.

We do offer refunds and store credit depending on the circumstances.

Email us straight away and we will try fix it up for you. We are happy to make changes to your order before it is picked up by a courier, just send us a DM.

If the parcel is returned to us, we will notify you to talk about reshipping it.

Email us with a picture when you get the pack and we’ll see if you are applicable, and how we can resolve this quickly for you. Typically refunds take 5 business days to appear in your account once we’ve actioned everything from our side.

Please note: we don’t accept returns for products that have been opened, products with obvious signs of use, or products that are damaged in any way for reasons out of our control, or products that are returned more than 30 days after purchase.

We do! We think we can make even more impact in our zero waste quest by putting 10% of our profits back into helping save our beautiful planet. Our chosen Not For Profit is the Seabin Project, that collects trash, oil, fuel and detergents from the ocean, capturing over 3 THOUSAND kilograms a day. We love their story (also local Aussie's) and felt it aligned perfectly with our values and mission. We can't think of a better way to combat the plastic pollution already in our ocean!
