Food waste has a way of sneaking into our kitchens and adds up more than we realise. In fact, the average Australian household throws out around 300kg of food each year. That's good food and hard-earned money lost, along with the resources it took to grow and transport it. And when those scraps hit landfill, they can’t break down properly, instead releasing methane, a greenhouse gas far more potent than CO₂.
